This week I was back behind the camera at the
Crafty Fox Talks which this time was about the nuts and bolts of Creative Business. These talks are so inspiring but I always forget to blog about them even though I've attended and photographed all but one!
Anyway first up was Emma Jones from Enterprise Nation and wow, such a dynamic speaker! She gave off the most amazing energy and enthusiasm. Emma covered VAT, funding and business plans. Not sure if any were applicable to me but great food for thought. |
Next up was a heavily pregnant Caroline Rowland who set up the online 91 Magazine and is also the person behind Patchwork Harmony blog. She talked about her journey from giving up her day job to running the magazine and blog as a business. It was also great to hear the advise that you should learn from your mistakes - reassuring advice indeed!
And last but not least was the amazing Zoe Bateman from Ladybird Likes who gave an inspirational and honest account of setting up a business. I've mentioned Zoe before as she gave a brilliant interview in Mollie Makes regarding the self doubt of a maker, especially in the age of social media, which I could very much relate to. But I hadn't realised that Zoe's business was only founded in 2012 and she has achieved so much in such a short space of time. Amazing. |
And after the speakers there is the opportunity to ask questions which are always varied and diverse. |
As you can see there talk was packed |
And at the end of the evening there is a chance to network over a glass of wine. All in all this was such a great event. So inspiring.... |
